Phase 2 & 3 - Middle and Senior School: Learn How to Plan, Teach and Assess Effectively Using Numicon - Queen Charlotte College - PICTON

This half-day course for Phase 2 & 3 teachers is designed to introduce how the Numicon pedagogy supports the NZ curriculum. We will practise using the Numicon equipment to represent mathematical ideas, including percentages, equivalent fractions and to promote explaining and justifying. We will look through the planning materials for Years 4-8 ( Numicon 3-6) to find the development of key mathematical knowledge through the step-by-step, explicit teaching steps.
