I do enjoy using the Explorer Progress books because the examples they give, get the student thinking in a different way about a topic.  I can measure their understanding by watching how they attempt the problems. They often like to draw and make up a story for themselves which allows them to put their own meaning into the problem so they think about it in a way that means something to them. The Explorer Progress Books supports the learning as an evidence-based assessment tool, demonstrating individual children's understanding and monitor progress and achievements.  

Each activity links to the learning each week.

Children have the freedom to record their answers in their own way, allowing you to see their thinking. The use of real-life contexts allows you to assess children's ability to apply their mathematics learning when faced with 'non-routine' problems.

The books contain fun and engaging activities for children to complete demonstrating to you and them their understanding. A Learning Log is included in each book.
