This course is designed for all teachers of Numicon. Learn more about the pedagogy and the research behind why the Numicon Approach is so successful at raising student achievement. Grow your teacher knowledge and understanding of mathematics through learning more about how to use the manipulatives to support students to understand Maths. Dig deep into Te Mataiaho and Numicon. Look at ways to plan, teach, and assess effectively using Numicon. Navigate OUP Numicon online and follow a scope and sequence. Experience the development of key mathematical knowledge and ideas through step-by-step, explicit teaching. Learn when and how to adapt your teaching to enable and extend the needs of all your learners. Understand when and how to use the additional resources - Explore More, Explorer Progress and the Collaborative Problem Solving Books. Bring a set of Numicon shapes, a base board, cuisenaire rods and some pegs. Come for an interactive hands-on day of learning. Morning tea will be supplied, BYO Lunch!
